On the night of March 7, the market was packed with people who came to buy flowers. The prices of the flowers also tripled compared to normal days.
"Most people just come here to watch and enjoy the flowers because the International Women's Day is tomorrow," said trader Nguyen Thi Hong Thu. "But we do have more customers than usual. They mostly buy flowers for their mothers and wives or companies buying for employees. The cost of a bouquet is VND350,000 (USD15) to some millions of VND."
Danh Co Duc, another trader, said his income increased compared last year because the Covid-19 outbreak in HCM City has been controlled and people felt safer.
