An especially serious road accident occurred on Phap Van-Cau Gie Expressway in Hanoi at 0.20 am on July 17, killing four people.

A sleeper coach carrying 32 people and driven by Nguyen Van, born in 1983 and from Thai Nguyen, was travelling on the expressway from Nghe An to Hanoi. When it reached the location, the vehicle veered off the expressway and fell onto a parallel local access road.
The crash left three people dead at the scene, while one more died in hospital.
Alcohol and drug tests on the driver found no violations. Weather conditions were favourable at the time of the accident and the road surface was dry.

After receiving the report, the Ministry of Public Security co-operated with relevant agencies to take the victims to hospital and investigate the cause of the accident.
