Vietnam secured an outstanding performance at the 2026 International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), with all four members of its national team winning gold medals, placing the country joint first in the gold medal standings alongside China and India.

The four gold medallists included three students from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and one student from Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted in Phu Tho Province.
The 2026 International Chemistry Olympiad was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from July 10 to July 19, bringing together 368 secondary school students from 93 countries and territories.
Competitors completed two five-hour examinations covering both theoretical knowledge and laboratory practice, testing scientific understanding, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and experimental precision.
Vietnam also achieved a strong result at the 2026 International Biology Olympiad (IBO), with all four members of its national team receiving silver medals.

The combined score placed Vietnam among the top eight participating countries and territories at the competition.
The 37th International Biology Olympiad was held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, from July 12 to July 19. The event attracted delegations from 86 countries and territories, with nearly 300 students competing.
