The shell was found early Friday at a construction site in Trieu Binh Commune during earthworks for the Coastal Road-East-West Economic Corridor project. Workers immediately alerted local military authorities.

The site was cordoned off, warning signs were erected and access was restricted while authorities secured the area.
A bomb disposal team from the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) later removed the shell and disposed of it safely, allowing construction to continue without incident.
Quang Tri remains one of Vietnam's most heavily contaminated provinces with unexploded bombs, mines and other wartime ordnance, which are still occasionally found during construction and farming activities.
