The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has proposed the use of 1,618 rooms at 10 hotels to serve as paid quarantine facilities for foreign experts upon their arrival to Vietnam.

The ten hotels, classed from three to five-stars, will be used for isolation only, and will not receive guests during the isolation period.

The isolation of foreign experts to Vietnam will be divided into separate periods to facilitate the medical supervision at quarantine facilities.

In the first phase, the city will use three hotels with total of 744 rooms in District 5, District 1 and Can Gio District to isolate foreign experts. In the second phase, an additional 520 hotel rooms in District 1, District 7 and District 3 will be used, with 345 hotel rooms in District 1 and Tan Binh District to be mobilised in the third phase.

Foreigners who enter Ho Chi Minh City must make a health declaration, have their body temperature checked, and take a test for COVID-19 virus at the airport. After an isolation period of 14 days, if they are negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, they can return to work.
