At a press briefing on Thursday, Vo Trong Nam, deputy director of the HCM City Department of Culture and Sports said that the department submitted a plan to the municipal people’s committee.

HCM City will not organise firework displays on Lunar New Year's Eve this year
The city will not launch firework displays on Lunar New Year’s Eve because of the pandemic.
However, the city will hold many activities as usual, including a spring flower market, a book festival, and a flower street on Nguyen Hue Road. Street light decorations will be carried out on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Dong Khoi, Le Duan, Nguyen Hue and Vo Thi Sau streets.
The city will organise delegations to visit HCM City Military Cemetery and the graves of late presidents Ho Chi Minh and Ton Duc Thang.
The city did not hold fireworks displays to mark New Year’s Eve 2022.
