According to HCM City People's Committee, clusters of cases have been detected in several districts and communes, posing a high risk to other people. From May 28, beauty salons, tourist spots, public parks and pedestrian streets will be closed. Restaurants are only allowed to offer take-away services and people are encouraged to use online payments.

The restaurants inside hotels are only allowed to serve hotel guests and must ensure social distancing rules. They must not serve more than 20 people at the same time. Homestay services are instructed to stop receiving new customers. HCM City authorities also ordered a suspension of all religious activities that have a gathering of more than 10 people.

Residents were asked to co-operate with the authorities and limit going out if unnecessary, especially people over 60 years old.

Gatherings of more than 10 people outside public places like schools and hospitals are also banned.
