The incident occurred on the morning of February 27. While on duty at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, the 58-year-old male guard noticed a young man parking his motorbike near the curb with his girlfriend.

The couple then brought their unleashed dog to the pedestrian street, allowing it to roam freely without a muzzle. When the guard approached and asked them to remove the dog from the area, a heated argument broke out.
The man suddenly grabbed a metal rod and struck the guard on the head, causing heavy bleeding and rendering him unconscious. Bystanders and authorities quickly rushed him to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Local authorities detained the attacker and seized the weapon, sending both to Ben Nghe Ward Police Station for questioning.
According to Le Nguyen Viet Nam, Vice Chairman of the Ben Nghe Ward People's Committee, local authorities are awaiting a police report.
