HCM City Fatherland Front halts flood relief collections

The HCM City branch of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) has stopped receiving relief goods for flood-hit provinces after its warehouses quickly reached capacity days into the mobilisation campaign.

According to the VFF, collection points across the city were overwhelmed with donated supplies. Residents have sent essential items such as food, clothing and basic necessities to support communities affected by severe flooding in central Vietnam.

The committee said all 18 collection points had already stopped receiving clothing and would suspend all collections from 10 am on November 24, 2025, to move to the next phase of assistance.

While essential items have been delivered, central and south-central provinces urgently need resources to repair homes, restore schools, rebuild small bridges and roads, and help residents stabilise their lives.

So far, HCM City has sent 211 tonnes of goods to Khanh Hoa and 130 tonnes to Dak Lak, including food, medicine kits, clothing, blankets and other necessities. Local forces have been loading supplies onto trucks for transport to the central region.
