A 46-year-old man in Long Bien District said that his first shot of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine was administered at his workplace on July 31. However, two weeks after that, after calling his ward’ medical station about the second jab, he was informed that the vaccine had run out.

He added that two of his friends also received the same answer.
According to a woman in Thanh Xuan District, her mother took the first shot of Moderna vaccine around one month ago, but to date, she has not yet received an appointment for the second one.
An official from the Hanoi Department of Health admitted the Moderna vaccine shortage for second jabs. People with the first jab of Moderna vaccine have to be vaccinated with the same vaccine.
To date, Hanoi has not yet been supplied with more Moderna vaccines from the Ministry of Health.
The country was donated five million doses of Moderna vaccine by the US government and 40,000 doses of the same kind from the Czech government.
Doctor Dang Thi Thanh Huyen, the Vice Head of the National Expanded Program on Immunisation, cited the WHO experts as saying that the best interval between two Moderna vaccine jabs should be four weeks. In necessary cases, the interval can be 42 days.
