Vice-chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son signed the official document, stating that the decision was issued because there are several cases of unknown point of infection. HCM City has also suspended religious activities after an outbreak occurred connecting to a Christian sect in Go Vap District.

Heads of the religious facilities in Hanoi were asked to help raise public awareness and report to the authorities suspected Covid-19 cases for timely responses. Common preventive measures are emphasised such as wearing face masks, and medical declaration forms should be completed.

The local authorities also encourage online activities for the time being. The facilities were also asked to not invite people living overseas into Vietnam for religious activities, especially if they have been to Covid-19 hot spots.

The head of the religious facilities will take all responsibility if they fail to follow the regulations and let an outbreak occurs.
