The Department of Education and Training will guide nursery, primary, secondary and high schools to adjust to change in school timings in accordance with the new regulations meant to ease traffic congestion during peak hours.
Relevant departments have been asked to monitor the time adjustments, record problems and issues during the implementation of the new timings and report to the City’s People’s Committee.
After more than a week of implementation of the new timings, city authorities were flooded with protests from parents and students alike, for the late closing hours for high school students.
As a result the city authorities were compelled to change the timings from 7 pm to 6 pm.
