This move is among the contents in the Ministry of Transport’s plan to loosen transport activities as the Covid-19 pandemic has basically been brought under control in many localities.

Saigon Railways Joint Stock Company’s passenger trains SE7/SE8 linking Hanoi and HCM City are planned to resume operations from October 1. The company will also operate passenger services along the Saigon-Nha Trang, Saigon-Phan Thiet and Saigon-Danang sections in case of higher demand.
The SE7/SE8 train services were officially suspended on August 25 due to the pandemic.
Hanoi Railways JSC Company has also announced plans to resume its LP5/LP6 passenger service on Hanoi-Hai Phong, Hanoi-Vinh and Hanoi-Danang routes from October 1. The weekend trains are slated for the Hanoi-Haiphong route.
Since Covid-19 outbreak in the southern region, the railway sector has only operated trains to transport Covid-19-affected people to return home based on the demand of management agencies and localities.
