Hanoi faces more Covid-19 cases

Hanoi has witnessed a rise in Covid-19 locally-infected cases from new outbreaks, according to the Hanoi Centre for Disease Control.

On Thursday, a couple at Alley 67 in Giap Bat area tested positive for Covid-19. The husband is a staff member at Military Hospital 108, raising the hospital-related Covid-19 patients to four since October 20. All of them have been quarantined.

Up to 5,131 hospital staff and patients have been tested for Covid-19, with all then having negative results. Some areas at the hospitals have been locked down.

Meanwhile, a total of 50 Covid-19 cases are involved in Quoc Oai District’s Covid-19 outbreak. The infection has spread to four other districts in Hanoi, namely Thanh Oai, Ha Dong, Son Tay and Ba Dinh.

Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the Hanoi Centre for Disease Control, said the infection source of the Quoc Oai outbreak has initially been confirmed. It originated from a man who lives in Thanh Oai District’s Kim Bai Town and works at Quoc Oai District’s People’s Court.

The city has also reported 17 Covid-19 cases related to Me Ot Hair Salon in Dong Da District. The infection has affected the two northern provinces of Hai Duong and Bac Giang.

Me Linh District has detected 16 Covid-19 patients in Tien Thang and Van Khe communes. The first local patients came to a funeral in Tien Thang Commune.

Many other northern localities are facing the Covid-19 reoccurrence, including Nam Dinh Province. Over the past three days, Nam Dinh City has recorded 47 new Covid-19 patients. Local authorities have instructed to set up four quarantine sites.

People in Nam Dinh City are banned from going out between 10 pm to 5 am the next day, except for necessary cases.
