Grandfather accused of starting the blaze
The culprit, 52-year old Tran Dinh Hau, lived in Xich Tho Hamlet, An Duong District. Hau's son, Tran Dinh Hiep and his wife had two daughters, who became the source of the dispute. The argument reached a peak on March 17, when the fire was started.
Bed doused with gasoline
The incident left six people hospitalised, including Hau's two granddaughters, ages four and five, who suffered burns over 80%-90% of their bodies. They are currently undergoing treatment at the Haiphong Paediatrics Hospital.
Aftermath
Both Hau and his wife also suffered from major burns, along with his son and daughter-in-law, who are being treated at Viet Tiep General Hospital in Haiphong.
