The PM has decided to allocate 65 hectares of land in the West Lake and Me Tri areas of Hanoi to build headquarters for ministries and departments.

The plan aims to create an office administrative system to fit Hanoi's development. Headquarters and offices of central-level agencies and special units of ministries will be allowed to remain the inner city. These facilities will be upgraded.
The PM also allocated 30ha of land in Me Tri-My Dinh, Tu Liem District and 35ha of land in the western area of West Lake for those which must be relocated outside the city centre; these include ministerial-level agencies.
The PM has given the Ministry of Construction the responsibility of collaborating with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee to create a detailed plan for relocating headquarters and building new offices for administration with view toward 2030.
In May, the Ministry of Construction announced that the new political centre in Ba Dinh District would take up to 134.5ha. In Hanoi, the Department of Planning and Architecture's proposal for the headquarters of six ministries would be moved to West Lake and the headquarters of five ministries moved to Me Tri.
The Ministry of Construction is asking that the government allow them continue to work on Le Dai Hanh Street to save on costs.
