The party secretary of Quang Binh Province, Luong Ngoc Binh, has just confirmed this with DTiNews.

According to Mr. Binh, the place was decided at a meeting held yesterday afternoon by the Committee for General Vo Nguyen Giap's funeral along with his family.

This is also the place that the General and his family had chosen to be his final resting place.

Vung Chua area is surrounded by three islets, namely La, Gio and Nom.

There are many swallows living on Nom Islet so it is also called Dao Yen or Swallow Islet, and is 10 hectares in area.

Vung Chua - Dao Yen lies two kilometres off the mainland and is about 10 kilometres south of Ngang Mountain Pass. This is a beautiful place with lovely natural scenery.
