A boatload of eight fishermen from the central province of Binh Dinh has gone missing off the Paracel Islands.
The fishing boat, 95744 TS, was operating off the Paracel Islands on January 17, when it radioed that its engine had failed and was drifting in strong winds. There has been no further contact with the boat since January 19 morning.
The owner, Ho Thanh Cuong of Hoai Nhon District, alerted coastal authorities.
The Binh Dinh Province’s Board for Search and Rescue said no sign of the fishing boat had been found as of 5:00 p.m on January 19. A search is continuing.
