Industrial companies in Hanoi are rushing to recruit new workers as former employees often move on to look for possibly better jobs following the lunar new year.

Looking for jobs at Bac Thang Long Industrial Zone
Sel Electronic Vietnam Company is searching for 8,000 female workers and offers a monthly salary of VND6.5m to VND7m (USD333). Canon Vietnam wants to hire 400 workers while SD Vietnam is hiring unlimited number of workers.
Aside from permanent positions, companies are also adding more part-time workers. Ryonan Electric is hiring an unlimited number and Panasonic Vietnam is in need of 200 female workers. Banners and leaflets searching for employees can be found everywhere at industrial zones in Hanoi such as Sai Dong, Hung Yen, Pho Noi and along the Highway 3 from Hanoi to Thai Nguyen Province.
Le Van Quy who is in charge of recruiting news and message board at Bac Thang Long Industrial Zone said, "Workers start to search for jobs at the end of lunar January. Even though companies make many offers after Tet Holiday there’s been few applicants."
Nguyen Lan Anh, an HR employee at a company in Dong Anh Industrial Zone, said many female workers resign after Tet for various reasons such as getting married or staying at home to take care of children. They had to make plans to temporarily fill in the vacancies and search for new workers.
Nguyen Toan Phong, director of Hanoi Job Centre, said human resource demand spiked after Tet because workers often quit during this time and many companies expand businesses.
In order to attract workers, bonuses and a variety of benefits are attached to the jobs. SD Vietnam Company offers allowances for travelling, childcare, attendance and housing. Workers can also attend free Japanese classes and annual tour trips. Sanomas Vietnam offers full insurance.
