The Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade, in coordination with related agencies, recently organised a livestream session in Nam Duong Commune to promote and sell early season lychees.
The livestream took place in two sessions from 12 pm to 2 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm on May 20.
A key highlight was the appearance of Pham Van Thinh, vice chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee, alongside Chu Thanh Huyen, wife of Vietnamese footballer Nguyen Quang Hai.

In June 2025, Thinh also drew attention after personally livestreaming to help farmers promote and sell agricultural products, successfully securing continuous orders for dozens of tonnes of lychees.
During the May 20 livestream, all products were sold in 3kg and 5kg combo packages to optimise transportation and preservation.
The vice chairman and the livestream team directly introduced consumers to the distinctive qualities of Luc Ngan early season lychees as well as Bac Ninh lychees more broadly.
They also highlighted farming, harvesting and packaging processes designed to ensure product quality and food safety, while promoting the development potential of the province’s signature agricultural products.
Thinh additionally answered viewers’ questions regarding quality control, production output, harvesting schedules and provincial measures to support sales and ensure stable market demand for lychees.
Speaking during the livestream, Thinh said Bac Ninh hoped people across Vietnam would gain a better understanding of the quality and sweetness of local lychees through digital platforms.
According to him, e-commerce has created favourable conditions for farmers to directly promote and sell their produce nationwide.
He added that the province is not only expanding online trade for lychees but also aiming to develop e-commerce channels for other agricultural products as well as industrial, household and tourism products.
Across the two livestream sessions, the programme attracted more than 832,000 views and secured 4,827 orders, resulting in the sale of over 31 tonnes of lychees.
This year, Bac Ninh has around 29,800 hectares of lychee cultivation, with estimated production reaching approximately 95,068 tonnes, equal to 59.5 per cent of the province’s target.
Early season lychees are expected to be harvested from May 20 to June 15, while the main harvest season is scheduled from June 10 to July 20.
According to the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, more than 17,450 hectares of lychee growing areas are currently designated for export markets.
Of that total, more than 16,190 hectares with output of around 110,000 tonnes are intended for the Chinese market.
Areas approved for exports to the United States cover more than 250 hectares with estimated output of 2,500 tonnes, while nearly 327 hectares producing around 3,500 tonnes are designated for the Japanese market.
