Ferry capsizes in Quang Nam, 14 saved

Fourteen people on board a ferry escaped after it sank in the central province of Quang Nam.

The incident occurred on the Truong Giang River in Nui Thanh District's Tam Hai Commune at around 7 am this morning, December 23.

According to the initial information, while the ferry was nearing the dock, it suddenly encountered a problem and sank.

The passengers managed to swim ashore safely, but 12 motorbikes, 10 mobile phones, and several other items were lost.

Local authorities are salvaging the ferry and the passengers' sunken belongings.

The ferry's owner is Nguyen Nhan from Tam Hai Commune. It was launched on December 21 and can transport a maximum of 22 people.
