Eight monkeys released into the wild in Quang Ngai Province on December 9.

The forest ranger in Duc Pho Town released the monkeys on December 9 near Hon Hoa Mountain.

In late September, the forest rangers in Duc Pho Town and the traffic police seized a man for illegal wild animal trading. They discovered eight monkeys in the car. There was one pig-tailed macaque and seven long-tailed macaques that are on the list of endangered and protected animals.

The man was fined VND20m (USD861) and the animals were seized. At that time, the monkeys weighed only 10kg in total and had weak health. After they became healthy again, they were released back into the forest.
