According to statements given to police, the group entered Vietnam through informal border crossings before travelling to Long Binh Ward in Dong Nai City, where they rented accommodation and survived by begging.
Dong Nai City Police urged boarding house owners to carefully check tenants' identification documents and fully comply with temporary residence declaration requirements, particularly for foreign nationals.
The Immigration Management Division is continuing to coordinate with Long Binh Ward Police to verify and handle the case in accordance with regulations.
Under Decree 282/2025/ND-CP dated October 30, 2025, individuals crossing national borders without completing legal entry and exit procedures can face fines ranging from VND 5 million to VND 10 million (approximately USD 190 to USD 390) per person.
