The disease is seriously ravaging northern and central localities, particularly Hanoi, Quang Nam, Quang Binh and Binh Thuan.

Since early this year, Hanoi has reported 12,000 dengue fever cases, higher than the average figure during the same periods in 2019 and 2021. The situation will continue until the end of November but is expected to improve in December.

Amid the widespread dengue fever outbreak, the Ministry of Health has urged localities to intensify spraying anti-mosquito pesticides in areas facing dengue fever outbreaks and those at high risk of the disease.

People are called on to take preventive measures such as regularly washing water tanks and other water containers.

Cities and provinces also need to inspect dengue fever prevention and control measures in vulnerable areas and those witnessing an outbreak.
