A military delegation led by Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh left Hanoi on May 30 to attend the 13th Shangri-la Dialogue in Singapore.
The three-day event includes five sessions, with a focus on contributions of the US to regional stability, measures to strengthen defence cooperation, management on strategic tensions, opinions of powerful countries on peace and security in Asia-Pacific, as well as management on changes in conflicts in the region.
As scheduled, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will deliver a keynote speech at the Dialogue, drawing participation of 13 representatives from many countries, including Prime Ministers, Defence Ministers, senior military officials and scholars.
