covid-19: no fresh cases detected since april 24 hinh 0Since January 23 Vietnam’s current total number of positive COVID-19 cases has rose to 270.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries increased to 225 after five COVID-19 patients, including four Vietnamese and one Danish national, were discharged from Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No 2 on April 25.

There are currently 45 COVID-19 patients being placed into isolation for treatment at six health facilities throughout the nation, including 13 testing negative for SARS-CoV-2 once and 3 testing twice.

Three seriously ill patients numbered 19, 91 and 161 are receiving intensive treatment.

The 45 positive infections exclude six relapse cases, including one who has departed Vietnam.

According to Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long, though Vietnam has recorded very few fresh cases of COVID-19, there could be people carrying the virus. Especially, many infected cases have displayed no clinical symptoms and are hard to be detected during the screening process.

He also showed his concern about a second COVID-19 wave that is predicted to hit the country, thus causing more difficulties for the healthcare sector in the coming time.
