The twins' father, Ban Van Thep, said that his sons died at 12.30am while on the way from Hanoi-based Vietnam-Germany Hospital to their home.
"The doctors said that our sons' condition worsened so we decided to bring them home," the 24-year-old man said.
The twin boys were born on July 13 to a 20 year-old mother at Vi Xuyen District General Hospital by caesarean section. They weighed 4.9 kilos and were conjoined from chest to belly.
Since being transferred to Vietnam-Germany Hospital after birth, the twins had received special care by local and foreign doctors and specialists.
Doctors said the twins could not be separated as they shared too many organs which were not complete.
