A Chinese tourist has drowned while bathing in Danang beach on the evening of September 30
The board announced on October 1 that a group of six Chinese tourists came to swim at a beach near Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Ngu Hanh Son District at 9.30pm on September 30 when two of them were washed away by the strong waves.
"Rescue forces were called to save the two male tourists but despite efforts from local emergency medical team and doctors from Danang General Hospital, only Li Hai Tao, 23, was saved while Li Guang Lei, 27, died," the board said.
According to local rescue forces, Danang beaches have been seeing strong waves over the last few days due to heavy rains and winds. Rescue forces are only available at the beaches between 4.30am-7pm in summer and 5am-6.30pm in rainy season.
“We often deliver announcements and have warning signs on the weather and bath time at the beaches here for visitors," the board confirmed.
The case is under further investigation.
