The central region of Vietnam has continued experiencing torrential rains with risks of flash flood and landslides.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, since December 26, provinces from Thanh Hoa to Khanh Hoa have been witnessing rains and strong winds. Localities from Nghe An to Binh Dinh have seen particularly heavy rains.

The heavy rains has resulted in landslides in Thua Thien-Hue


The rainfall in some areas in Thua Thien Hue and Quang Ngai provinces was measured at 275.2-337 mm on December 26-27.

The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has warned that flash floods and landslides would happen in many coastal and low areas in the central region.

The torrential rains have caused a great amount of mud to flow into households in Phu Loc District, Thua-Thien-Hue Province. As a result, 14 local households have been evacuated.

The mud has also covered part of a road to the Laguna Resort in Loc Vinh Commune, Phu Loc District.
