According to local police, some people saw the man fall at 67 Hang Bac Street at 7.20 am. When they rushed over they found him already dead and called the authorities.
From the passport found in his pocket, the man was identified as Joseph Turry, aged 39, of Canadian nationality.
He was staying at Hang Trong Ward in Hoan Kiem District.
Police said that the security cameras from surrounding houses showed that the man suddenly fell onto the street while walking shirtless.
