Bodies of two missing workers found at Kon Tum hydropower plant project

The bodies of two missing workers have been found two days after the tragic accident at the construction site of the Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant in Kon Tum Province.

According to the Dak Choong Commune People's Committee, local search and rescue teams found parts of the bodies of two missing workers in a stream below the dam, about 50m from the accident site at 2 pm on January 2.

The search continues for the remaining parts of the two bodies.

The incident took place at around 3 am on December 31, 2024 when a scaffolding at the Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Project suddenly collapsed, causing a group of five workers who were working on a night shift to fall into a deep hole.

Three bodies had been recovered right after the accident and returned to their families. 

The deceased workers, aged between 20 and 30, were identified as Ha Van Son, Kha Van Khay, Ngan Van Long, and Luong Van Hung from Nghe An Province, and A Tuat from Kon Tum Province.

Kon Tum authorities have ordered the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
