Binh Duong authorities have announced the third water discharge of Dau Tieng Reservoir this year, scheduled from 7 am on May 14 until May 25.
The reservoir release will range from 36 to 150 cubic metres per second. Under normal conditions, the maximum rate of 150 cubic metres per second is expected not to inundate areas along the Saigon River.

However, authorities have warned that if there is heavy rain, the discharge could lead to flooding in low-lying areas along the Saigon River.
The Steering Board for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Dau Tieng District, Ben Cat City, Thuan An City, and Thu Dau Mot City must actively prepare response measures.
On May 10, a two-hour intense downpour caused severe flooding in many areas of Binh Duong. The rain hit during rush hour, disrupting travel and leaving many vehicles stranded.
In Di An City, many households were evacuated due to the serious flooding
