According to the Korean Cultural Center in Hanoi, South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just published a bilingual book of Vietnamese–Korean named ‘Phac hoa sinh hoat tai Han Quoc’ or ‘A sketch on social life in Korea’.
The 200-page book provides basic information about South Korea and its cultural activities and other necessary information for Vietnamese people who live there.
It is expected that the book will be reissued and published in Vietnam in a bid to equip Vietnamese people with the knowledge required to live in South Korea.
The books are delivered free at language centers and Korean study facilities in Vietnam’s universities.
Additionally, the Korean Cultural Center has a plan to donate these books to Vietnamese laborers working in South Korea through Vietnam’s Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Previously, in early 2011, the center launched a bilingual fairytale book for children who were born into Vietnamese-Korean families named Cay khe or carambola tree to promote the understanding of the two countries. The Korean Cultural Center hopes to publish the second and the third books of this fairytale collection.
