The fire erupted from the cloth warehouse near Ninh Hiep Market at around 5:30 pm on Thursday.
Firefighters along with six fire engines were sent to the site.
The store is located on a very large land plot near Ninh Hiep Fabric Market. The dry weather was among the factors for the quick spread of the fire.
The incident frightened traders at Ninh Hiep Fabric Market, causing many of them to relocate their goods.
According to some local residents, the fire broke out after a big explosion from a restaurant next to the warehouse.
The fire posed difficulties for the firefighters. More crew and specialised vehicles and equipment were brought to the scene.
The fire was brought under control at around 10 pm the same day.
Firefighter boots suffered fire damage.
According to the local police, no one was injured, but tonnes of goods set for sale before the coming Lunar New Year were ruined.
The cause of the case is under investigation.
