The event's organising committee said that the event would prelude the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race that Da Nang hosts as a home port of the Da Nang-Vietnam team from February 17-21, and the Asian Beach Games next September.It's the first time that the city has hosted a sports-entertainment event to promote tourism and its beautiful beaches.
Competitors will race barefoot along 10km, 5km and 2km stretches.
The city will also host a ‘Clean-up the beach' and a musical performance at the East Sea Park a day before the races. The central city has become a popular for the annual International Marathon Race and the Ironman Race.
