The bomb was found in Tan Rat Village in Ngoc Linh Commune, according to local military authorities.

After receiving the report, local forces were deployed to the site to cordon off the area, ensure public safety and warn residents to stay away from the location.
A preliminary inspection identified the device as an MK82, a 500-pound general-purpose bomb manufactured in the United States.
The bomb measures about 1.5 metres in length and still contains explosives.
Local military officials have reported the discovery to higher-level authorities, which are expected to arrange for the bomb to be safely removed and disposed of in accordance with regulations.
