The bomb has been safely removed.
The Mines Advisory Group Vietnam announced on January 4 that they have safely removed a bomb that was found at a forest in Quang Ninh District.
The bomb was found some one metre underground where a group of people were planting trees in the forest.
The bomb was then removed to a safe area awaiting detonation.
Large numbers of wartime bombs have been detected in Quang Binh.
The Ministry of Defense said that nearly 225,000 hectares of land across Quang Binh were affected by unexploded ordnance (UXO). Landmine or UXO accidents have claimed more than 2,930 lives in the province.
