A bomb weighing more than 200 kilos was successfully defused in Huong Hoa district of the central province of Quang Tri on August 15.
The bomb measured 1.5 metres long and had a diameter of about 80 centimetres .
Experts said it was dropped by the US Army in 1968 to prevent the uprising of local people and soldiers during the campaign to liberate Huong Hoa district.
