They are drivers from southern localities who are waiting for customs clearance for dragon fruit to be exported to China through the Kim Thanh 2 Border Gate.
The gifts offered for the drivers
The provincial border guards invited them to mark Tet at the border gate on the last day of the lunar year of 2021 and the first day of the Lunar New Year.
More than 400 Chung cakes along with other gifts worth VND150 million were given to the drivers to make up for them missing Tet at home.
All of the drivers said they were moved by how they were treated.
Lang Son has also offered gifts to hundreds of drivers who still remain stranded at Tan Thanh Border Gate during the Tet holiday.
Thanks to concerted efforts from both sides, the number of freight trucks stranded in Lang Son significantly dropped.
The ministry once again advised localities, agribusinesses, traders and long-haul lorry drivers to strictly adhere to Covid-19 preventive rules in production, packaging and delivery to ensure the goods are of the highest level of safety.
