As many as 14 people were killed in traffic accidents on the first day of Tet Holiday according to the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security.

A report from the department said that on January 20 which was the first day of the 2023 Tet Lunar New Year holiday, the country saw 25 traffic accidents, killing 14 people and injuring 17 others.
During the day, traffic police dealt with 4,600 violations including nearly 1,400 drunk driving cases, and revoking over 1,100 driving licenses.
Vietnamese people are having seven days for the Tet holiday, which last from January 20 to 26.
