The team is expected to fly to HCM City on August 21-23.
1,000 military medics to support southern localities in Covid-19 fight
Under the instructions of the Ministry of Defence’s Army Medical Department, the force includes 300 doctors and students from the Military Medical Academy in Hanoi.
The people are divided into groups of five members, including two doctors and three students.
They will help establish and staff field hospitals, do Covid-19 testing, vaccination and patient transportation. They are also responsible for taking care of Covid-19 patients at quarantine sites and at home.
The Military Medical Academy has provided training courses for the force for the mission.
The Ministry of Defence has asked concerned units to set up seven field hospitals for Covid-19 treatment in the southern region.
To date, around 2,000 people from the army are assisting Covid-19 prevention and control activities in HCM City.
