Vietnamese representative Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc wins the Miss Intercontinental 2022 pageant on October 14.

The 21-year-old Ho Chi Minh City student made history by becoming the first-ever representative from Vietnam to win the title in the pageant's 50-year history.


Bao Ngoc previously made the Top 22 of Miss Vietnam 2020 and finished runner-up of Miss World Vietnam 2022. The Can Tho-born beauty is 1.85 metres tall and measures 87-63-98 cm. She is currently a student at the Faculty of International Affairs at Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City.



Joining the Miss Intercontinental 2022 pageant in Egypt was Bao Ngoc's first-ever travel experience outside of her country. Apart from winning the coveted title, she also bagged the continental title of Miss Intercontinental Asia and Oceania during the Top 6 announcement.

"To be the most beautiful woman of all continents means to be a woman who possesses all qualities of a modern-day queen and who is committed to being an ambassador for her community," she said in her bio on the Miss Intercontinental website.


"I am determined to bring the brightest values and most authentic version of a modern Vietnamese woman, of myself. It is my goal to represent my roots and to connect across cultures, and to make new friends with all other contestants," she added.

Puerto Rico's Mariela Pepin was named first runner-up while Brazil's Maria Cecília Almeida de Sousa finished as the second runner-up. Joy Raimi Mojisola of Nigeria, Tatjana Genrich of Germany, and Emmy Marianne Carrero Mora of Venezuela were announced as the third, fourth, and fifth runners-up, respectively.

Completing the Top 20 were the contestants from Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Japan, Thailand, Australia, Philippines, Netherlands, Russia, Hungary, Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Colombia.
