The accident occurred around 6.30 am on March 3, in Bach Dang Ward, Ha Long City. As the excavator climbed the slope, it suddenly stalled, and the brakes failed. The vehicle then plunged into a pit beside the hill.

As a result, 47-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Dong, the excavator driver, was killed instantly.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
