Officials from the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Border Guard Command receive 25 packs from a local man who found them on January 11.
The Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Border Guard Command announced on Monday that it had received 25 packs with foreign labelling from a local man who found them on January 11 while collecting scrap metal at Bai Vong Beach in Con Dao Island.
The Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Border Guard Command conducted tests on the substances in the one-kilo packages and confirmed they were drugs.
They called on local people to hand similar finds to local border guards.
Earlier, hundreds of kilos of drugs, including ecstasy and methamphetamine, were also found drifting onto beaches in central provinces from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan between 2022 and 2024.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, these drugs may belong to illegal trading rings that tried to get rid of them to avoid discovery.
