The incident occurred around 7 am on Monday at a nursery school in Thach Dai Commune in Ha Tinh City.
After his parents dropped him off at the school, the teachers received and took him in. Around the same time, another parent arrived in a red car to bring their child to the facility.

At that moment, the 16-month-old boy suddenly ran from the pavement onto the road and fell. He quickly got up and stood about one metre in front of his parents' car.
The female driver was unaware of the child and accelerated. The boy was caught underneath the vehicle, and the driver only stopped after onlookers shouted.
The witnesses immediately sent him to the hospital for emergency treatment, but due to his severe injuries, he died at around 2 am this morning, March 11.
