Authorities in Nha Trang start removing the illegal construction work from a hotel building project in Loc Tho Ward on July 10.

According to the Nha Trang City People's Committee, the project investor, To Van Huynh, was given a licence in 2020 to build a six-storey hotel building on an area of 261.80 square metres at 9/2D Nguyen Thien Thuat Street.

On March 23, 2020, local authorities found that the investor was building on a seventh floor and came to issue a fine and requested the investor to remove their illegal construction.

However, To Van Huynh paid the fine and continued to building to an 11th floor.

During their check on October 21, Nha Trang City People's Committee discovered the violations and continued to ask Huynh to remove all the illegal construction works.

As the investor had failed to follow the requirements, the committee sent a team on Wednesday to demolish the six illegally-built storeys.

It is estimated that the demolition work would take a long time as the hotel lies in a small lane in a densely populated area.
