At around 10 pm on Sunday, around 1,000 cubic metres of soil and rocks fell onto a section of National Highway 8A passing through Huong Son District. This is also the route to Cau Treo International Border Gate.

After the incident, border guards worked with the police and the Vietnam Road Administration to deploy forces to regulate traffic and set up warning signage.

The section of National Highway 8A leading to Cau Treo International Border Gate often experiences landslides.

On January 25, thousands cubic metres of soil and rocks fell onto the section, paralysing traffic for hours.
