More than 144,000 visitors came to Vung Tau beaches between February 17 and 20, the first four days of the Tet holiday. On the fourth day alone, arrivals surged to about 66,000, a sharp increase from previous days.

Large crowds gathered along Thuy Van Street and at popular spots in the Bai Sau area, including the Tam Thang towers and the Ca Ong monument. Traffic on Thuy Van was frequently gridlocked, while beachgoers entered the sea from early morning under mild sunshine.
Local authorities said the recent upgrade of Thuy Van Street had helped draw more tourists. Pre-holiday cultural and entertainment events also boosted visitor numbers.
During the Tet break, the ward hosted lion and dragon dance festivals and music performances celebrating the Party and the New Year, attracting tens of thousands and creating a festive atmosphere.
Rescue teams brought ashore several swimmers caught in rip currents and ensured safety for around 4,000 visitors to the Hon Ba historical site.
Tourism operators in eastern Ho Chi Minh City expect record visitor numbers this year following the completion of key infrastructure projects. These include the VND 1.1 trillion (USD 41.82 million) Thuy Van-Bai Sau park complex and new landmarks such as the Ca Ong statue and Tam Thang towers, aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.
