Vietnam welcomed over 863,500 Russian visitors in the first seven months of 2026, up 174 per cent year on year, making Russia its third-largest and fastest-growing major source market.
Tour operators specialising in the Russian market expect arrivals to reach a record high this year. The seven-month figure has already surpassed the 689,714 Russian visitors recorded in all of 2025 as well as pre-Covid levels.
Destinations including Danang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and Phan Thiet have been expanding services to tap the growing market.
Following the launch of Russian charter flights to Danang in April, services to Nha Trang and Phu Quoc will begin in September, with flights from more than 20 Russian cities planned for the 2026-2027 winter season.
Anex Vietnam said it plans to expand air links from Russia to Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa and Phu Quoc during the winter season.
The company expects to bring about 198,000 Russian tourists to Vietnam during the 2026-2027 winter season, averaging around 33,000 a month and about 30 per cent more than in summer 2026.
In Khanh Hoa, Anex Vietnam will launch Moscow-Cam Ranh charter flights in late September at three flights a week, expanding its existing network between Russia and Vietnam.
The frequency is expected to increase to five flights a week from January 2027, boosting capacity for Russian visitors travelling to Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa.
In Phu Quoc, charter programmes from Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries will begin in late September, earlier than mid-October last year.
The services are expected to continue until April 2027, with Anex Vietnam alone projected to bring around 13,000-15,000 tourists to Phu Quoc each month.
