Three new beaches to open in Ha Long Bay

The northern province of Quang Ninh plans to open three more beaches in Ha Long Bay this year to better serve tourists.

According to the bay management board, the three new beaches will be Soi Sim Island, Hang Co (also known as Thien Canh Son Cave), and Trinh Nu Cave. All are nice sandy spots at the base of islands scattered throughout the bay.

Ti Top is currently the only beach open to swimmers in Ha Long Bay, despite the bay having hundreds of scenic sandy shores at the foot of its islands. This leaves Ti Top overcrowded, while tourists on other routes have no access to swimming.

Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial people’s committee, recently instructed concerned agencies to restructure tourism services in Ha Long Bay to improve quality and meet the growing demand for cultural and historical experiences. She also highlighted the need to develop sports activities like kayaking in compliance with existing laws.

Hanh urged the review of cruise regulations in Ha Long Bay and encouraged boat owners of ageing vessels to invest in newer, more spacious, and upscale boats to enhance service quality.

The opening of three new beaches in Ha Long Bay is expected to help diversify tourism offerings and ease overcrowding at Ti Top Beach during peak season.

Quang Ninh has set a goal to serve 20 million visitors, including 4.5 million international tourists, with total tourism revenue expected to exceed VND55 trillion (USD2.16 billion).
